Krystal Nite has spent over two decades as an artist, interior decorator, photographer and lover of beautiful things and places. She is the proud mother of two kids; one she had when she was a kid, the other she just had to keep her feeling like a kid. Married to her amazing husband over half of her life, she says she feels like she won the lottery with him.
Her talent for sprucing up interiors began when she got her first retail job as a teenager at TJ Maxx. Most girls would spend their paychecks on clothes but oh no, she spent them on bedding and accents for her room.
After moving to Tennessee, she managed apartments and found herself naturally decorating and staging them, soon increasing occupancy. Shortly after, she began decorating, staging, creating decorative painted surfaces and remodeling for model homes and local real estate agents before joining Ethan Allen Interiors. There she worked with hundreds of clients ranging in budgets from $1,000.00- $150,000.00. After one year she managed the staff of design consultants and became the Sr. Project Manager. She is now home with her two kids changing diapers and teaching driving lessons while freelancing in design.
Q & A:
Why start a blog when there are thousands of great blogs for interior design?
-I see so many high end and quite honestly, unrealistic design blogs out there. Yes, readers want to see beautiful, inspiring things, but they are not going to be in the market for a $10,000 sofa. They really want to find solutions for their own homes. I relate to the majority of readers and I want to help them see how they can attain the look they want.
Are you still working with clients?
-Yes I am working with residential and commercial clients. I just wrapped up a 3,000 sft retail showroom with a workshop and offices.
How do you spend your free time?
-What free time? I do like to snuggle with my family watching a movie after I’ve made them a nice dinner.
Where is your favorite place to shop?
-TJ Maxx, most people don’t get it, and that’s ok, more for me!
A little known fact about you?
-I’m a classically trained vocalist, that loves rock music… really any kind of music.
What recharges you?
Mexican food and margaritas, with my girlfriends. And maybe under an umbrella on a beach.
